Take a closer look at our innovations in biological wastewater treatment

Since 2010, the MUTAG BioChip™ has effectively treated wastewater at a nitrification reactor, handling a maximum sewage flow rate of 1,260 m3/h. Substituting abraded foam-type carriers, it ensures discharge quality requirements are consistently met for approximately 50,000 PE values, maintaining operational success.

MUTAG has supplied engineering services, MUTAG BioChip™ carriers, and technical equipment for the paper mill WWTP in Perlen, Switzerland, operational since 2010. The BioChip™ effectively removes high-loaded COD/BOD, with a volume flow rate of Q = 23,520 m³/d, showcasing MUTAG's commitment to sustainable wastewater treatment solutions.

A new high-tech recirculating aquaculture system was built in the German city of Porta Westfalica by the aquaculture specialists of glammeier + John aquakultur GmbH & Co. KG.

Between 2006 and 2007, the ZKS Dillingen coke oven plant in Germany tested the Mutag BioChip™ for nitrification with support from MUTAG. Since 2008, the plant has used the BioChip™ continuously, treating wastewater at a flow rate of Q = 1,440 m³/d, improving environmental sustainability and operational efficiency.

In 2021, our collaboration with Wastewater Solutions Group GmbH resulted in the successful implementation of a containerized wastewater treatment plant in Point Fortin, Trinidad and Tobago. Using our MUTAG BioChip™, the plant efficiently treats wastewater from a 500-bed hospital, boasting easy operation and long-term sustainability. Grateful for the partnership, we anticipate more eco-friendly installations ahead.

Since 2017, the RAS plant, employing Moving Bed Biofilm Reactor (MBBR) technology for ammonia removal, has operated at a volume flow rate of Q = 100 m³/h. This innovative system ensures efficient and sustainable water treatment in aquaculture, promoting healthier aquatic environments and reflecting a commitment to responsible practices.
